The Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award is the Amsterdam competition for innovative ideas with a societal and/or commercial impact.

- The festive award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 21 June 2017.
Participating in this contest will give you an excellent opportunity to develop your idea further, explore its potential, propose your idea to an experienced jury and share it with the public and companies. See also the invitation to register of the jury, Mirjam van Praag.
Meet a tailored group of companies
Aside from the possibility of winning € 10,000 you will have the opportunity to find the right partner to develop your idea further. An independent jury will make a selection of the participating ideas. Based on your unique profile, this selection will be matched to a tailored group of companies, entrepreneurs, societal organisations and investors that might have the finances, experience and know-how to turn your idea into reality.
This competition is open to all researchers, staff and students in all disciplines from all Amsterdam universities, universities of applied sciences, academic medical centers and public research centers.
Criteria & Jury
Entries will be judged by the jury on their innovativeness, feasibility and fulfillment of a market need. See for additional information Criteria & Regulations.
How to participate?
Describe your idea and sign up via the registration form. Deadline for registration is Wednesday 22 March 2017.
Early birds who register before 3 March, will have the opportunity to get support from our team to help develop their idea into a sound and clear proposition. And in addition, if you are selected as one of the finalists, you will receive professional support and pitch training for the final.
About Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award
The Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award is an annual competition for the most innovative idea resulting from scientific research, which has a social and/or commercial application. Last year over 70 researchers and students from Amsterdam’s many universities and research institutes took part. The Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award is organised by Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA) and Gemeente Amsterdam. Partners of this event are Amsterdam Science Park and Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI).
